"The fairs were truce ground." - BEASTS OF GOR, Pg. 47 Leave all drama and personal grudges outside the fest. Any drama will be taken seriously and could lead up to banning and/or the removal of your Home from the fests. "The contests I mentioned which take place at the fairs are, as would be expected, peaceable, or I should say, at least do not involve contests of arms. Indeed it is considered a crime against the Priest-Kings to bloody one's weapons at the fairs." - PRIEST-KINGS OF GOR, Pg. 11 As fest times were time of peace, weapons and use of weapons is forbidden. "Although no one may be enslaved at the fair, slaves may be bought and sold within its precincts, and slavers do a thriving business, exceeded perhaps only by that of Ar's Street of Brands. The reason for this is not simply that here is a fine market for such wares, since men from various cities pass freely to and fro at the fair, but that each Gorean, whether male or female, is expected to see the Sardar Mountains, in honor of the Priest-Kings, at least once in his life, prior to his twenty-fifth year." Priest Kings of Gor-12 This being said, forced collars are not permitted nor will they be honored. On the whole, however, Gorean culture prescribes the veil for free women. Slave Girl of Gor Book 11 Page 108 Appropriate dress will be required by FW and panthers including veils in all fest common areas. Panthers will dress as a FW. Panthers will not be respected as FW if scantily clad and are likely to be treated as slaves.Exceptions to this will be the FW Tea Room and the Outlaw Camp. Individual Homes are permitted to enforce their own rules in their areas. Slaves will conduct themselves as slaves. We encourage all the use to taverns where slaves are to offer service to any unattended Free. Should a Free request food or beverage kindly beg to take it to the areas dedicated to those services. A slave's heat was never visible in the presence of FW so we ask that no heat be shown in any public fair room. Slaves are encouraged to gather and be available for service to the Free in the tavern and the FW tea room. Whispering, especially to a slave in service, is not permitted without first getting permission to. Slaves are required to answer an unsolicited whisper in public. This is a Gorean Festival, however, all are invited to attend. We ask that you respect our traditions and follow Gorean protocol. Those who are Gorean are to conduct themselves as Gorean with honour. The Sardar Festival is headed by a commitee and has appointed moderators to assist that it runs smoothly. The moderators are representative of the commitee, respect what they say. The commitee will have final say in all matters. The rules are subject to revision at anytime with or without notice so check back often. |
